This error occurs when there is a communication error between the software and the printer.

  1. Turn off your printer and computer.
  2. Turn on the printer.
  3. Follow the printer LCD prompts to clear any error conditions.
  4. Turn on the computer.
  5. Cancel all print jobs:
    1. On the computer, select Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes (or Start > Devices and Printers).
    2. Right-click the icon for the KODAK Printer you are using, then select Cancel All Documents.  
  6. Try printing again.

If the error continues: 

  1. On the computer, select Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes (or Start > Devices and Printers).
  2. Right-click the icon for the KODAK Printer you are using, then select Delete.  
  3. Run the KODAK Printer Setup Utility again.
    1. Select Start > Programs > Kodak > KODAK Printer Setup Utility.
    2. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer.
  4. Try printing again.

If the error continues, and your printer is using a wireless connection:

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Wait two minutes, then turn on the printer.
  3. Try printing again.

If the error continues, there may be a computer firewall setting that is blocking the connection.

If you are using any of the following firewall programs, adjust the settings, then try to print again.

 Firewall:

 Adjust the following settings:

 ESET

  1. Select Advanced Setup mode > Personal Firewall > IDS and Advanced Options.
  2. Clear the IGMP protocol message checking check box.

 CA Internet Security

  1. Select My Internet > Update > Network Access > Advanced Settings.
  2. Select Allow Incoming IGMP.

AVG Internet Security

  1. Select Firewall.
  2. Under Firewall Settings, select the Firewall Profile to Allow All.

 McAfee

  1. Select Start > Run.
  2. Type services.msc.
  3. Locate and right-click McAfee Network Agent Service, then click Disable.
  4. On the computer, select Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes (or Start > Devices and Printers).
  5. Right-click the icon for the KODAK Printer you are using, then select Delete.  
  6. Run the KODAK Printer Setup Utility again.
    1. Select Start > Programs > Kodak > KODAK Printer Setup Utility.
    2. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer. 
  7. After Home Center Software is working properly, right-click McAfee Network Agent Service, then click Restart.

 Trend Micro

  1. Click Disable firewall.
  2. On the computer, select Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes (or Start > Devices and Printers).
  3. Right-click the icon for the KODAK Printer you are using, then select Delete.  
  4. Run the KODAK Printer Setup Utility again.
    1. Select Start > Programs > Kodak > KODAK Printer Setup Utility.
    2. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer.
  5. After Home Center Software is working properly, open Trend Micro again, then click Enable firewall.

Norton

  1.  Click Disable Smart Firewall.
  2. On the computer, select Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes (or Start > Devices and Printers).
  3. Right-click the icon for the KODAK Printer you are using, then select Delete.  
  4. Run the KODAK Printer Setup Utility again.
    1. Select Start > Programs > Kodak > KODAK Printer Setup Utility.
    2. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer.
  5. After HomeCenter Software is working properly, open Norton again, then click Enable Smart Firewall.

Bitdefender
Pro Defender

  1. Select Options > Extreme View > Firewall.
  2. Select the Devices tab, then add the IP Address of your printer.
    NOTE: To find the printer IP Address, from the printer, select Home > Network Settings > View Network Configuration, then scroll down and record the IP Address.
  3. Click Allow Device and Action Shows Allowed.
