With the built-in duplexer and the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), you can make two-sided copies of your documents automatically.

Note: Both the original and the copy must be on letter or A4-sized plain paper. For photo paper, you must manually make two-sided copies because you cannot load photo paper in the ADF.

When copying, you have the following options:

  • two-sided original to two-sided copy (2 - 2)
  • one-sided original to two-sided copy (1 - 2)
  • two-sided original to one-sided copy (2 - 1)

When scanning or faxing, you can identify the original as either one-sided or two-sided.

  1. Load plain paper into the paper tray, if necessary.
  2. Place your original document (up to 35 pages) in the ADF.
  3. Press Copy, Scan or Fax.
  4. In the options menu on the LCD, press to select whether your original is one-sided or two-sided.
If you are copying, you can also select the output to be one-sided or two-sided.
  5. Select other options as needed, then press Start.
