You are receiving this error message because there is a paper jam, or the top (photo) tray is not securely in position and the printer cannot print.
Check and clear the paper jam:
- Raise the paper output tray.
 - Check the top tray for paper or a foreign object that is jammed inside or that remains at the entrance to the paper feed.
 - Pull out the top tray and remove any jam, and remove paper from the top tray.
 - Pull out the bottom paper tray, and clear any paper jams.
 - Load paper in the bottom tray, and push in until the tray is in place.
 - Load paper in the top tray.
 - Push in the top tray until it is even with the bottom tray.
Important: Do not force the top tray too far; doing so can cause a jam.
Curled photo paper can cause a paper jam. To prevent curling:
- Keep un-printed paper in a sealed plastic bag or in the original packaging.
 - Store sealed packages of paper flat, and not on their sides.
 - Load only the amount of paper you intend to use into the printer and keep the remainder sealed.

To remove curl in photo paper:
- Place the paper in a plastic bag or in its original packaging.
 - Gently bend the paper in the opposite direction of the curl, then insert it into a tube.
NOTE: A paper towel tube works well for uncurling photo paper. The tube should be larger than 1.5 in. (4 cm) in diameter. - After a few minutes, remove the paper from the tube.
 - Remove the paper from the plastic bag or packaging.
 - Verify that the curl has been removed from the paper. Repeat the steps above if necessary.
