If your originals do not feed through the ADF, you might not have loaded them correctly. The originals will remain in the ADF and there might be a blank copy, scan, or fax.

To resolve:

  1. Move the ADF paper-edge guides outward.
  2. Remove all paper clips and staples from the originals.
  3. Fan and stack the originals, then insert them face up in the ADF.

    IMPORTANT: You should hear a 'beep' sound when you load your originals in the ADF correctly. If you don't hear the sound, make sure you have the button sounds turned on:
    1. Press Home.
    2. Select Printer Settings, then press OK.
    3. Select Buttons Sounds.
    4. Use the left or right Navigation buttons to select On, then select OK.
    5. Remove the originals and re-insert them face up in the ADF; if necessary, repeat until you hear the beep sound.

  4. Move the ADF paper-edge guides until they touch the edge of the originals.
  5. Press Start.
    The ADF will automatically feed the originals.
