This error can occur if your printer loses the USB connection during the firmware upgrade in MAC OS.

To resolve the error, make sure your:

  • printer is turned on.
  • USB cable is connected securely to the printer and computer.

This error can also occur if your printer is connected simultaneously via USB and a Wi-Fi network, and you try to upgrade firmware via USB. To resolve, remove the Wi-Fi printer queue and upgrade the firmware again:

  1. Under the Apple Menu, select System Preferences.
  2. Click the Print & Fax icon.
  3. In the printer list, highlight the printer connected via a Wi-Fi connection. The printer will have a name ending in a plus sign ( + ) and four digits. Example: KodakESP6150+0394
  4. Click the minus sign ( - ) under the printer list to remove the Wi-Fi printer queue.
  5. Close the Print & Fax window by clicking the red circle.
