To resolve the error condition:

  1. Select OK, if prompted to select OK or Cancel.
  2. If the scan is not successful, from the "Select the kind of item you would like to scan" area, select Picture instead of Document.
  3. Follow the prompts to scan.

If failure messages continue to occur when you scan documents or pictures:

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Wait 30 seconds, then turn on the printer.
  3. Restart Home Center Software.
  4. Try to scan again.
