Remove and inspect the paper tray.
CAUTION: Do not place the printer on its top or right side when you remove the paper tray. Ink could possibly leak into the printer and cause damage.
- Turn off the printer.
- From the back of the printer, disconnect:
- power cord
- USB cable (if used)
- Turn the printer on its left side.
- Open the paper tray.
- From the bottom of the printer, do the following depending on your printer model:
ESP 3250/5210/5250
ESP 3 or 5
a. Remove:
- Screw
- Retainer
- Paper tray
a. Remove:
- Screw - A (2)
- Retainer - B
- Paper Tray - C
b. Slide the paper tray forward, then remove it.
- Check the paper tray for the following:
- surface scratches
- bends
- ink contamination
- broken parts
- If the paper tray is broken, we're sorry but there are no longer any spare parts available for these discontinued printers, otherwise do the following:
- Install the parts that were removed in Step 5.
- Place the printer upright.
- Connect:
- power cord
- USB cable (if used)
- Turn on the printer.
- Make a print to check the functionality of the paper tray.
