To turn on bidirectional support:
- For computers with WINDOWS XP or VISTA Operating Systems:
- Select Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes.
- Right-click your printer name, then click Properties.
- Click the Ports tab.
- Select the Enable bidirectional support check box.
- Click OK.
- For computers with WINDOWS 7 Operating System:
- Select Start > Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your printer name, then click Printer properties.
- Click the Ports tab.
- Select the Enable bidirectional support check box.
- Click OK.
If the error continues, keep your printer connected to the computer and follow the steps below.
- Delete the printer icon:
- WINDOWS XP or VISTA:
- Select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
- Right-click the printer name and select Delete.
- WINDOWS 7:
- Select Start > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click the printer name and select Delete.
- Uninstall, then reinstall the printer driver:
- Select Start > Run, then type devmgmt.msc.
- Select the "+" sign next to Imaging devices, then right-click your Kodak printer and select Uninstall.
- Restart your computer and log into an administrator privileged account.
- Open Home Center Software, then select Printer Tools > Printer Setup Utility and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Select Start > Programs (or All Programs) > Kodak > KODAK Printer Setup Utility.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Connect the printer using the USB cable when prompted.
If the error continues, make sure you have the latest version of software and firmware:
- Open Home Center Software, then select Printer Tools (Tools on MAC OS).
- Select the Check for Software Updates and Check for Printer (Firmware) Updates options.
NOTES:
When updating the firmware for a wirelessly connected printer, make sure [printer name]+xxxx - Connected appears in the lower left corner of the Home Center Printer Tools screen. If your printer does not appear, click Select > Refresh List and choose your printer from the list, then click OK.
