Locating the IP Address for your WINDOWS computer:
- Select Start > Run and type cmd in the window. The command line window will be displayed.
- Type ipconfig.
- Press the Enter key.
- Write down the following information that is displayed:
- The IP Address of the Gateway Server
- The IP Address of your computer
- An IP Address will appear as four sets of numbers separated by periods (.). For example, 192.168.1.10.
- Close the command line window.
Locating the Network Settings and assigning the IP Address for your printer:
- Use the printer control panel and navigate by pressing and scrolling:
- Home (Menu) > Network Settings > Advanced IP Address Setup.
- Press OK on the control panel.
- Select Manual Static.
- Enter the IP Address for the printer:
- Be sure to create an IP Address for the printer that does not conflict with the Gateway IP Address. For example, 192.168.1.255.
- The numbers you may choose must be between 0 and 255.
- Enter the Subnet Mask as: 255.255.255.0
- Enter the Gateway Address for your computer.
- The DNS Address will be all zeroes (0).
NOTE: If prompted to enter a DNS Address, enter the IP Address of the Gateway Address that you recorded in Step 4 of the Locating the IP Address procedure above.
- The DNS Address will be all zeroes (0).
- Verify that the printer accepted the IP address:
- From your printer, select Home (Menu) > Network settings > View Network Configuration.
- Scroll down and record the IP address that is listed.
- From your computer, select Start > Run > cmd, then click OK.
- Type the IP address from Step 2, then press the Enter key to ping the printer.
NOTE: If the IP Address is not listed, repeat Step 3 to enter the IP Address for the printer again.
- Reconnect your printer to your network.
- Reconnect your printer using the printer network setup utility.
- Choose how you want to connect to the network (WiFi or Ethernet).
