This error message may indicate that an Easyshare.exe file is set to run in compatibility mode.
IMPORTANT: Print this page before continuing.
Solution 1
- Right-click the KODAK EASYSHARE Software icon on your desktop, then select Properties.
- Select the Compatibility tab.
- Clear the Run this program in compatibility mode check box.
- Click Apply, then OK.
- Start EASYSHARE Software. If successful, do not attempt solutions 2 or 3.
Solution 2
- Select Start > Search.
- Select All Files and Folders.
- In the All or Part of the file name box, type vistaedit.esx, and click Search.
- Right-click the vistaedit.esx file, and change the file extension to .old.
- Close all windows, and quit all programs.
- Start EASYSHARE Software. If successful, do not attempt solution 3.
Solution 3
- Select Start > Turn Off Computer.
- Select Restart, and click OK.
- While the computer is restarting, Press F8.
- When the "Please select the operating system to start" message appears, select Safe Mode, then press the Enter key.
- Select Start > My Computer > C > Program Files > KODAK > KODAK EASYSHARE Software > bin.
- Right-click the Catalog folder, then select Properties.
- Select the Security tab.
- Verify that Full Control for the Administrators group is selected, then click OK.
- Restart the computer in Normal Mode.
- Start EASYSHARE Software.
