The APPLE AIRPORT EXTREME Base Station, TIME CAPSULE, and AIRPORT EXPRESS Base Station must meet the 802.11n wireless standard and have firmware version 7.4.1 or later installed.
To use your all-in-one printer with your APPLE AIRPORT device:
- Connect the all-in-one printer to the APPLE AIRPORT device using a USB printer cable.
- Install the all-in-one printer software.
- Select your printer, and select USB as the connection method.
NOTE: You will be prompted to connect using a USB cable. - Click Continue.
- Follow the on-screen prompts.
- Select your printer, and select USB as the connection method.
- Restart your computer.
After the software install is complete, in the all-in-one printer software:
- Navigate to System Preferences (under the APPLE icon or from the dock).
- Navigate to Print & Fax.
- Click the "+" to add the printer.
- Select your printer. The "kind" will be listed as Bonjour.
- Click Add.
- Quit System Preferences.
NOTE:
- You will be able to print to your all-in-one printer when connected using a USB cable connected to the APPLE Base Station.
- Home Center Software is not supported when the all-in-one printer is connected using USB to the APPLE EXTREME, TIME CAPSULE, or AIRPORT EXPRESS Base Station.
- Other functions, such as scanning will not be available.
- You may experience a loss of speed when printing, since the print job is using the AIRPORT EXTREME, TIME CAPSULE, or EXPRESS Base Station to send the print job.
- If you are using a wireless-enabled printer, connect your printer to your wireless network using the wireless feature. Do not connect a wireless printer using a USB cable connected to the AIRPORT device.
