The following can cause multiple sheets to be fed from the paper input tray:

  • loading more than the specified amount of sheets
  • loading the sheets incorrectly
  • using paper or other media that does not meet the paper specifications

Do the following to reduce or eliminate multiple sheets from being fed from the paper input tray:

  • Replace paper that has been exposed to a damp environment with fresh paper that has been in a sealed wrapper.
  • Do not overload the paper tray. (100 sheets of 20 lb plain paper or 20 sheets of 12 mil (290 gsm) thick photo paper)
  • A full paper tray is more likely to allow multiple sheets to be fed. Reduce the amount of paper in the paper input tray.
  • Do not load more than one type of paper into the paper tray.
  • Adjust the paper guides so they just touch the paper in the paper tray.
  • Do not touch the glossy side of photo paper.
  • Load more than one sheet of paper in the the paper tray.
