Whether you can scan when you are out of ink depends on the printer model you have.

If you have one of the following all-in-one printers, you can scan before replacing the ink cartridge(s):

  • ESP 3250, 5250, , 7250, 9250, C110, C310, or C315
  • ESP Office 2150, 2170, 6150
  • HERO 3.1, 5.1, 7.1, 9.1
  • OFFICE HERO 6.1 
  1. Press the Cancel button on your printer.
  2. Scan your picture or document.
  3. At your earliest convenience, install a new ink cartridge. 

If you have a 5100, 5300, 5500, ESP 3, ESP 5, ESP 7, or ESP 9 all-in-one printer, you must first replace the ink cartridge(s).

  1. Install a new ink cartridge. 
  2. Scan your picture or document.
