What should I do when I get an error message "Printer Not Responding" even though my printer is connected to a wireless network?

- Power cycle your printer:
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Wait 5 seconds.
- Connect the power cord to the printer.
- Make sure that all firewall software is not blocking the required services, and is not blocking the built-in firewall on the router. For information about the required services, see
- Make sure your computer is not connected to a Virtual Private Network (VPN) or other secure corporate work network when you use the printer in your home wireless network (see ).
- Check that your printer is not connected to the wrong network with the same name (routers with the same default SSID (network name) in your area). It is common for users to leave their wireless router SSID the same as the default, out-of-box name that the manufacturer gave it (for example, linksys). Neighbors with the same router SSID can be connected to the wrong network using the same name. If your router still has the default SSID, change the SSID to a new name for your router.
- Restart your computer.
- Run the Printer Setup Utility:
- On a computer with WINDOWS OS: Start > Programs > Advent > Advent Printer Utility.
- On a computer with MAC OS: Open System Preferences, then select Print & Fax from the Hardware section, and then click the + sign to add a printer.
