When your printer communicates with your computer, it requires increased protection from electrical interference, which a high-speed certified USB 2.0 cable provides. USB cables that are not "high-speed certified" may work with other devices, but do not support all of the functions of your printer. For the best performance, connect your printer to your computer using only a certified high-speed USB 2.0 cable.
