This option allows you to turn off automatic paper size detection. By default, this option is selected.
Special media, such as pre-printed paper, paper with a border or letterhead, or colored paper, may result in an invalid reading from the paper size detection sensor. If you experience trouble while trying to print onto special media types, use this feature to turn off the automatic paper size detection.
NOTE: This feature is not available on all printer models. To determine if your printer has this feature, see . If your printer doesn't have this feature, see for suggestions on printing to pre-printed or colored paper.
To turn off the "Verify paper size when printing" feature:
- Open the file you want to print.
- Select File > Print.
- Select your printer, then select Properties or Preferences.
- Select the Advanced tab.
- Clear the Verify paper size when printing check box.
- Select the General tab.
- In the Size field, select the size of the paper (media) you loaded in the paper tray.
CAUTION: Selecting a size that is larger than the loaded media can cause ink to spray onto the paper rollers. - Click OK, then OK again to send the print request.
