When the camera is set to Continuous Auto Focus (or Continuous AF), you may hear the lens optics in motion as the camera continuously focuses. This is normal.
To conserve battery life, you can change to Single Focus so that the camera focuses only when the Shutter button is pressed halfway down. To change to Single Focus, see the Extended User Guide online for your particular model, or:
- Press Menu.
- Under the Capture tab, choose AF Control.
- Choose Single AF, then press OK.
- Press Menu.
NOTE: These steps vary between models.
