For computers running WINDOWS Operating System:

  1. Look for your KODAK Printer under Printers and Faxes.
    1. From your computer, select Start > (Settings) > Printers and Faxes.
    2. If the printer is under Printers and Faxes, right-click the printer icon, then click Delete
  2. Run the KODAK Printer Setup Utility as an administrator.
    1. Select  Start > Programs > Kodak.
    2. Right-click KODAK Printer Setup Utility, then click Run as.
    3. From "The following user:", select a User name with an administrator level account, then click OK.
    4. Select Start > Programs > Kodak > KODAK Printer Setup Utility, and follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. If the problem continues, make sure that your printer driver is installed properly.
    1. Go to Device Manager (select Start > Run, type devmgmt.msc, then click OK.)
    2. In the Device Manager window, if your printer is listed as Unknown device under Other, with a yellow question mark, follow steps a through g below to properly install the printer driver.

      If the printer is not listed as an unknown device, select View > Show hidden devices, then select the plus (+) sign and right-click the KODAK Printer. Follow steps a through g below. 
      1. Right-click the unknown device printer, then select Update Driver.
      2. Select the Install from a list or specified location (Advanced), then click Next.
      3. Select Search for the best driver in these locations.
      4. Select the Include this location in the search check box.
      5. For printer models EASYSHARE 5100, 5300, or 5500,
        ESP 3, 5, 7, 9, 3250, 5250, 5210, 6150, 7250, or 9250:
        32 bit systems: Enter C:\Program Files\Kodak\AiO\PrinterDriver in the Browse box.
        64 bit systems: Enter
        C:\Program Files (x86)\Kodak\AiO\PrinterDriver in the Browse box.

        For all other printer models:
        32 bit systems: Enter
        C:\Program Files\Kodak\AiO\PrinterDriver2 in the Browse box.
        64 bit systems: Enter
        C:\Program Files (x86)\Kodak\AiO\PrinterDriver2 in the Browse box.

        NOTE: To determine if your system is 32 or 64 bit, right-click My Computer, then select Properties. The operating system is displayed under the General tab. (Only 64 bit systems will be noted here. If your system is 32 bit, you will not see a note).
         
      6. Click Next.
      7. When the printer driver is updated, click Finish. Your printer should appear under Printers in the device manager.
        NOTE: You may need to select View > Show hidden devices to display Printers in the device manager. 
  4. Try to connect to your printer again using the Printer Setup Utility (Start > Programs > Kodak > KODAK Printer Setup Utility). 
  5. If the error continues, apply the recommended settings for your firewall or antivirus program.   

For computers running MAC Operating System:

Click the issue you are having:
Printer not detected (No KODAK Printer in Print and Fax listing)
Printer not detected (Wireless connection)

If your printer is not detected and it does not appear in the Print and Fax listing:

  1. Under System Preferences in the Hardware section, click Print and Fax.
  2. Make sure the KODAK Printer is listed:
    1. If the printer is listed, click the minus (-) sign to remove the icon. Then click the plus (+) sign to add the icon.
    2. If the printer is not listed, click the plus (+) sign, then select the KODAK Printer to add it.
    3. If the printer still does not appear in the list, uninstall the software and reinstall it. See .

If your printer is not detected and you are using a wireless connection:

  1. Make sure the Wi-Fi LED is lit and not blinking. If the light is blinking, see .
  2. When the Wi-Fi LED is lit and not blinking, your printer is connected to your network. Continue with the steps below.
  3. Under System Preferences in the Hardware section, click Print and Fax.
  4. Make sure the KODAK Printer is listed:
    1. If the printer is listed, click the minus (-) sign to remove the icon. Then click the plus (+) sign to add the icon.
    2. If the printer is not listed, click the plus (+) sign, then select the KODAK Printer to add it.
  5. If the "Printer not detected" error continues, reset the printer settings:
    1. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences.
    2. From the View menu, select Print and Fax.
    3. Right-click the printer icon, then select Reset Print Settings.
    4. Run the Wi-Fi wizard on the printer to connect the printer to a network.
      1. Press Home > Network Settings > Wi-Fi Setup Wizard.
      2. Select your network and press OK to connect the printer.
    5. Under System Preferences in the Hardware section, click Print and Fax.
    6. Click the plus (+) sign and follow the on-screen instructions to add the KODAK Printer icon.
    7. Try printing again.

Notes on USB cables:

Follow these best-practice recommendations for using a USB cable connection. Make sure that:

  • Your printer is turned on (Power button is illuminated).
  • You are using a high-speed USB 2.0 cable.
  • The cable is connected securely to both the printer and the computer, and that the distance between the printer and computer is less that 1.8 m (6 ft).

If the issue continues, there may be a problem with your USB cable or your USB port. Try the following:

  • Connect the USB cable to a different USB port on your computer.
  • Try using a different high-speed USB 2.0 cable.
    Note: You can test your USB cable by connecting another USB device to your computer using the USB cable.
  • If you are using a USB hub, connect the printer directly to the computer's USB port without using the USB hub.
