When printing using the automatic duplexer (two-sided printing), a larger margin is required on the short edge of the paper than if you are printing without the duplexer. If the margins for the short edge of the paper are too small, the printer driver will shrink the printable area of your document to fit within the margin requirements.
Do the steps below to print your document without having it resized:
- Go to Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes.
- Right click on your all-in-one printer, then select Printing Preferences.
- Select the Layout tab.
- Select Automatically with Duplexer under Two sided Printing.
- De-select the Maintain Layout checkbox.
- Select Apply, then OK.
This will clip the document instead of resizing it, so it is important to verify your document fits within the margins before printing. For example, in the latest version of MICROSOFT Word, you can set the margins by doing the following:
- Open your document in MICROSOFT Word.
- Select Print > Print Preview.
- Select Margins > Customs Margins.
- Adjust the top and bottom to a larger number (equal or greater than 0.65").
- Print the job.
