These cameras allow USB charging

EASYSHARE M320, M340, M380, M420, M753, M763, M853, M863, M873, M883, M893, M1033, M1063, M1073, M1093, Z1015 IS, and Z950 Digital Cameras can be charged from a computer using USB charging. Other EASYSHARE Digital Cameras do not have USB charging capability from a computer.

Select your camera model for USB charging instructions:

  • EASYSHARE M-Series and Z-Series Digital Cameras
  • EASYSHARE V1073, V1233, V1253, and V1273 Digital Cameras

The following KODAK Accessories may be used to charge your camera battery. See your Extended User's Guide for compatibility.

Charging your KODAK EASYSHARE M- or Z-Series Digital Camera using the USB port on your computer

NOTE: The following instructions apply only to the EASYSHARE M320, M753, M763, M853, M863, M873, M883, M893, M1033, M1063, M1073, M1093, M420, M380, M340, Z1015 IS, and Z950 Digital Cameras. Other M- or Z-Series cameras do not have USB Charging capability.

NOTE: See your camera Extended User's Guide to determine if your camera is compatible with the KODAK USB AC Adapter.

  1. On your computer, turn off the hibernation standby, and sleep modes. (See the instructions below.)
  2. Turn off your camera.
  3. Verify that the correct battery is installed properly in your camera. (See your Extended User's Guide for this information.)
  4. Connect the USB cable to your camera and to the USB port on your computer. Do not use a USB hub.
  5. If you have an EASYSHARE M873 or M883 Zoom Digital Camera, turn on your camera.
  6. Wait for your camera battery to charge (approximately 3 hours). (See your Extended User's Guide to learn how to determine when charging is complete and for information on battery life expectancy.)

 

Charging your camera using a KODAK USB AC Adapter

NOTE: See your camera Extended User's Guide to determine if your camera is compatible with the KODAK USB AC Adapter.

  1. Turn off your camera.
  2. Verify that the correct battery is installed properly in your camera. (See your Extended User's Guide for this information.)
  3. Plug the USB AC adapter into a working power outlet.
  4. Connect the USB cable to your camera and to the USB AC adapter.
  5. If you have an EASYSHARE M873 or M883 Zoom Digital Camera, turn on your camera.
  6. Wait for your camera battery to charge (approximately 3 hours). (See your Extended User's Guide to learn how to determine when charging is complete and for information on battery life expectancy.) 

 

Turning off the hibernation, standby, and sleep modes

WINDOWS XP Operating System

  1. Select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Power Options.
  2. Click the Power Schemes tab.
  3. Under "When computer is: Plugged in," set "System standby" and "System hibernates" to Never.
  4. Click Apply, then click OK.

WINDOWS VISTA Operating System

  1. Select Start > Control Panel.
  2. Select System & Maintenance, then select Power Options.
  3. Within your preferred plan, click "Change plan settings," then set "Turn Off computer" and "Put computer to sleep" to Never.

WINDOWS 7 Operating System

  1. Select Start > Control Panel.
  2. Select Power Options, then select a turn-off time.
  3. Within your preferred plan, click Change Plan settings.
  4. Click Change advanced power settings.
  5. Locate Sleep from the list that appears, then click the plus (+) sign beside it.
  6. Set Hibernate after to Never.
  7. Click OK, then click Apply.
  8. Click Save changes.

MAC OS X Operating System

  1. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences.
  2. From the View menu, select Energy Saver.
  3. In the "Setting for" box, select Power Adapter.
  4. Click the Sleep tab. If the Sleep tab does not appear, click Show Details, then select Sleep.
  5. Under "Put the computer to sleep when it is active for," move the slider to Never.



Charging your KODAK EASYSHARE V1073, V1273, V1233, or V1253 Digital Camera using the USB port on your computer

  1. On your computer, turn off the hibernation, standby, and sleep modes. See the instructions below.
  2. Turn off your camera.
  3. Verify that the correct battery is installed properly in your camera. See your Extended User's Guide for this information.
  4. Connect the USB A/V connector (provided with your camera) to your camera.
  5. Connect the USB cable to your camera and to the USB port on your computer. Do not use a USB hub.
  6. Wait for your camera battery to charge (approximately 3 hours). See your Extended User's Guide to learn how to determine when charging is complete and for information on battery life expectancy.
