This solution is valid if you use MAC OS X 10.5.x LEOPARD.

NOTE: The default setting for Firewall is "off."
  1. Open System Preferences and select Security (under Personal).
  2. Select the Firewall tab.
If Allow only essential services is selected, you can scan from your computer only; scanning from the printer will not work.
To scan from your all-in-one printer, continue with the next step.
  3. Select Set access for specific services and applications.
  4. Either log out, then log back in, or restart your system.
  5. Click Allow when the dialog box appears.
IMPORTANT: If the dialog times out before you select Allow, the default setting is Deny.
  6. If you need to change from Deny to Allow:
    • Go to the Security panel under System Preferences and select the Firewall tab.
    • Highlight KodakAioBonjourAgent and click the Block incoming connections text.
    • Select Allow incoming connections.
Initiating scanning at the printer front panel is now enabled.
IMPORTANT: If the Firewall is on and Set access for specific services and applications is the selected level of security prior to installing the software, when the system is restarted as part of the install, select Allow on the next screen. Otherwise, you will need to follow the instructions in step 6 above to change the security to KodakAioBonjourAgent allowing incoming connections.
