When using WEP security encryption (64-bit or 128-bit), you must enter the pass key (security key) in hexadecimal (hex) format as seen on the router's generated key field (e.g., Key 1). Hex digits are limited to any combination of A-F and 0-9.
The printer does not support ASCII character format for WEP keys, or entry of a user-friendly pass phrase used on some routers to automatically generate a WEP key.
At the printer control panel Wi-Fi security menu, enter the WEP key exactly as it is generated by the router. The correct number of hex digits for the pass key is:
WEP: | Hex Digits: |
64 bit | 10 |
128 bit | 26 |
The printer does not support WEP encryption that is greater than 128 bits.
