To resolve this error:

  1. Open the printer access door.
  2. Disconnect the power adapter from the printer.
  3. Gently hold both sides of the carriage, located immediately behind the printhead, and make sure the carriage moves freely.
    • If the carriage does not move freely, your printer may need repair. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to repair these printers.
  4. Remove the printhead and ink cartridges.
  5. Reinstall the printhead and ink cartridges, making sure each clicks into place.
  6. Connect the power adapter to the printer.
  7. Turn the printer on, if necessary.
  8. Close the printer access door.
