Resetting the printing system on a computer with MAC OS may resolve printer connectivity issues. To reset the printing system, you must log in as the administrator of your computer.
IMPORTANT: The following steps will delete all print queues installed on your computer, including third-party printer queues.
- Under the Apple icon, select System Preferences.
- Select Print & Fax in the Hardware field.
- Control-click on the printer in use.
- Select "Reset printing system...".
- When the "Are you sure you want to reset the printing system?" prompt is displayed, click OK.
- When prompted, enter your password, click OK. The printing system will be reset.
- Disconnect the printer power cord from the power source.
- Connect the printer power cord to the power source and turn on the printer.
If the printer is connected using a USB cable, a print queue is automatically added for this printer.
Adding a print queue for printers on a Ethernet or wireless network:
- Under the Apple icon, select System Preferences.
- Select Print & Fax in the Hardware field.
- Click the "+" sign to add a new printer.
- Select the network printer from the list of available printers, then click Add.
- The network printer will include Bonjour under the Kind field.
- The network printer name will include an alpha-numeric extension after its name, for example Kodak ESP9250+1234.
- Quit System Preferences.
