Macro (close-up) pictures
To take incredible close-up pictures, try using the Macro (or Close-up, or Flower) setting. Macro opens up a whole new world, giving you new perspectives of flowers, insects- anything you want to explore at a new level!
Depending on camera model, access the Macro setting using the Mode dial or by pressing the Macro/Landscape button.
Tips:
- When using Macro, use the LCD to compose your picture. Your LCD shows what your lens is capturing.
- Don't be discouraged if your first set of close-ups are blurry; keep practicing! Make sure you are using the Shutter button correctly. (Typically, you press the button halfway to focus and set exposure, then all the way down to take the picture.) Make sure you are within the recommended focus distance.
- Increase your chances of getting a great picture-shoot several pictures of the same subject, and then choose your favorites.
- If possible, use available light instead of flash.
- When finished shooting close-ups, remember to change back to Auto mode; otherwise, your next pictures could be blurry.
Landscape (infinity) pictures
Use the Landscape setting to get sharp pictures of distant scenes. In the Landscape setting, the camera uses a fixed, infinite focus.
Depending on camera model, access the Landscape setting using the Mode dial or by pressing the Macro/Landscape button.
Tips:
- Auto focus framing marks are not available in Landscape.
- When finished shooting landscapes, remember to change back to Auto mode; otherwise, your next pictures could be blurry.
