This message appears if:
  • this is the first time that you have turned on your camera.
  • the battery has been removed for an extended period of time.
  • the battery is exhausted.

    NOTE: All digital cameras have a small, internal power source that maintains the internal date and time. Freshly charged or new batteries must remain in the camera for at least 24 hours to fully charge this power source.
    If new batteries aren't charged for at least 24 hours, you must reset the date and time every time batteries are changed. After the power source is fully charged, it maintains the date and time under normal use.

To set the date and time:

  1. Press the Menu button.
  2. Use the arrows to:
    1. Select the Setup menu.
    2. Select the Date & Time feature.
    3. Set the date and time.
  3. When you are finished, press the OK button.
