IMPORTANT: Before you send a fax, make sure you have set up your printer for faxing. See the Extended User Guide for your printer.

To send a fax:

  1. If necessary, print the fax originals from your computer to your printer. For more information, see the Extended User Guide for your printer.
  2. Load up to 25 plain-paper originals into the automatic document feeder (ADF). Place photographs or thick-paper originals individually on the scanner glass.
    NOTE: You can only fax one page at a time from the scanner glass.
  3. Press Fax.
  4. Enter a fax number using the numeric keypad.
  5. Do one of the following, depending on the printer: 
    • HERO 2.2 and 4.2, ESP 9, and EASYSHARE 5500: Press Start.
  • ESP Office 2150, 2170, 6150 and ESP 9250:
    • Press Start Black to send a black-and-white fax.
    • Press Start Color to send a color fax (if the original is color).

To send a fax from your computer with an OFFICE HERO 6.1, HERO 2.2, 4.2 or 9.1 All-in-One Printer:
NOTE: You must have Home Center Software installed on your computer.

WINDOWS OS:

  1. Open the document you want to fax, then select File > Print.
  2. In the print dialog box, make sure that your printer Fax Driver is selected (for example, [printer name] Fax Driver], then click Properties or Preferences.
  3. Select a paper size (letter or A4) from the drop-down menu, then select a resolution and orientation as needed.
  4. Enter the fax number in the Enter Fax Number field, then click OK.
  5. Click OK to send the fax.

MAC OS:

  1. Open the document you want to fax, then select File > Print.
  2. Expand the print dialog box, if necessary.
  3. Select Fax Options from the drop-down menu.
  4. Select a paper size (letter or A4) from the drop-down menu, then select an orientation as needed.
  5. Check the Send as Fax check box, then enter the fax number in the To field.
  6. Select a fax quality (Standard or Best).
  7. Click Print

To receive a fax:

  1. Load plain paper into the printer.
  2. Press Auto Answer to receive incoming faxes.

    NOTE: If the Auto Answer LED is illuminated, the printer automatically receives incoming faxes.
