To turn on bidirectional support: 

  • For computers with WINDOWS XP or VISTA Operating Systems:

    1. Select Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes.
    2. Right-click your printer name, then select Properties.
    3. Select the Ports tab.
    4. Select the Enable bidirectional support check box.
    5. Click OK.
  • For computers with WINDOWS 7 Operating System:

    1. Select Start > Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
    2. Right-click your printer name, then select Printer properties.
    3. Select the Ports tab.
    4. Select the Enable bidirectional support check box.
    5. Click OK.

NOTE: If you are using a printer on a shared network, try connecting the printer to your computer directly using a USB, Ethernet, or Wireless connection instead. For more information about connecting your printer, see Chapter 2 of the Extended User Guide for your printer.
