When my all-in-one printer performs a printhead cleaning, where does the ink go?

Ink used during printhead cleaning is absorbed into a foam pad near the maintenance station, so there is no risk of ink spills or contamination. The amount of ink that is absorbed is extremely low, and typically evaporates inside the service station within 12 hours. Any residual ink remaining in the maintenance station is insignificant, and will not adversely affect the performance of the printer or the life of the service station.
